Piano Collection series

Melodic Moods Piano Collection is a captivating series of sheet music books drawing on the film, classical and jazz genres. There are many emotive pieces, which appeal to children, teenagers and adults alike and give them an alternative to the standard piano repertoire and pop songs which are often disappointing when transcribed for piano!

The series starts at a standard suitable for beginners and progresses through more challenging pieces. Each level is roughly equivalent to the British Exam Grading System (1 to 8), with a Pre-level 1 for beginners.

Written initially for her pupils, Kari Smart wanted to inspire them to play and practise the piano. In the early books, the use of patterns and repetition of ideas makes the pieces easy to read and learn quickly.

The music is often atmospheric and surprisingly impressive, rare qualities for music at this level of ability.
